Week 100: HOME

Well, this is it. I know it's been a month, but I figured I should send one more email so that I end on Week 100 instead of week 99. I have finished my time serving as a missionary. It's a very bitter sweet feeling. I'm very happy and very sad. It was incredible to see all my family again, but it was super sad to say bye to all my family in the TLM. Some thoughts I've been pondering come from something Elder Schmitt said when he visited the mission about how the mission is the mtc for life. I've had a lot of incredible experiences with Jesus Christ throughout my mission. And I've had the privilege to see him work miracles in the lives of so many of my friends. It makes me think of something President Holland said, which is "After an encounter with the son of God, nothing is to be as it was before." In every moment, we are either being proved, or prepared for something great to come. As we have these experiences, our ability to exercise our agency grows, because we have a greater understanding, which inevitably brings a greater ability to make our own decisions, and more responsibility to choose well. I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store for me, and what I'll experience in my next chapter of life. The Church really is true, the Book of Mormon truly testifies of Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ truly is my savior and the savior of all mankind. I love yall! - Elder Wride
